This baseline report was created by Data for Indigenous Justice (DIJ) and is a reclamation of our stories that we have always had and maintained. This ancestral knowledge of data that we put forward is our families and communities to self-determine our pathways to justice. While the use of data and reports can be used in innumerable ways; our intention here is first and foremost the ensure the safety of our people.

National Indigenous Women's Resource Center MMIW State Legislative Tracker
The Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW) State Legislative Tracker is a navigational database designed to help you easily search legislation relating to MMIW within your state and across the country. The Tracker is a continuation of the MMIW Monthly Legislative Summary, previously released as part of our monthly legislative update. Now in the form of a navigational database, we hope that this tool will be useful for state and local legislators, advocates, grassroots leaders, community members, and allies. Currently there are over 30 pieces of legislation moving through the process or already signed into law within this legislative session.

Indigenous Evaluation Framework
Building the Sacred: An Indigenous Evaluation Framework for Programs Serving Native Survivors of Violence illustrates four places from which Indigenous evaluation is already taking place in violence prevention, response, and healing programs that have not yet been formally recognized in a culturally rooted evaluation framework. The four places are walking with relatives, planting seeds of strength, healing, and adapting in community—protecting space for grief and healing. 

LGBTQ+ Data Forum Report
The forum purpose was to listen to LGBTQ2SIA+ community members, service providers, data system managers, and advocates to start a conversation on how we can better serve LGBTQ2SIA+ peole in data systems not only within DIJ but across organizations, in programming, and in advocacy. In 2021 more than 180 community and allied organizations wrote a letter to health leaders with a clear charge, “End the invisibility, collect LGBTQI+ health data now!”

MMIWG2S Alaska Working Group
Alaska Native Women's Resource Center, Alaska Native Heritage Center, Alaska Native Justice Center, Native Movement, Data for Indigenous Justice and Prevention Now understand the crisis of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit persons is a complex issue, but action is needed now. We address this from a healing perspective with our community. We collectively demand justice on all fronts on a state, local and federal level.
